Team Lead / Grounds Maintenance

Alaska Pet & Yard Services is hiring a reliable and hardworking Team
Lead / Grounds Maintenance.
This is a hands-on field
position. You will spend most of your workday driving an assigned
route and removing dog waste from customer yards. You will also
help the company maintain strong field performance by training
employees, conducting quality-control checks, troubleshooting
unusual customer situations, and supporting communication between
field employees and management.
This is not a desk or office
supervisor position. You must be able to perform the job at a high
level before leading others.

Responsibilities

Complete an assigned daily route using your
own vehicle. (We reimburse for mileage)

Remove dog waste and thoroughly check each
customer’s service area.

Follow customer instructions and secure all
gates.

Report aggressive dogs, unsafe conditions,
access problems, and customer concerns.

Maintain dependable attendance, punctuality,
service quality, and productivity.

Train new employees and coach existing
employees when improvement is needed.
-
Conduct quality-control checks and provide
direct, respectful feedback.
-
Help investigate unusual yards, service areas,
complaints, or field problems.
-
Assist with supplies, team communication,
meetings, and training assignments when needed.

Set a positive and responsible example for
other field employees.
Qualifications
-
2+ years of previous leadership, training, mentoring, or
supervisory experience. Must genuinely have a passion for leading
people.

Has a insured reliable vehicle that
they don't mind having pooper scooper tools in while they're working.
Vehicle cannot have more than 100,000 miles.
We provide the following: All tools like a shovel, bucket, pooper scooper and misc. supplies such as
bag's, etc. Tools and and supplies are all provided by us!

Is in EXCELLENT physical
condition to be performing outdoor manual labor 8-10 hours per day.

Proven record of dependable attendance and
punctuality.

Able to work independently without constant
supervision.

Comfortable giving and receiving direct
feedback.
-
Able to repeatedly walk, bend, lift, rake, and
carry bags weighing approximately 30 pounds. Field employees walk 7-10
miles per day.

Enjoys working around dogs and handling dog
waste.
-
Excellent communication and customer-service
skills.
-
Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance,
and an acceptable driving record.

Reliable vehicle with appropriate seasonal
tires and room for tools and supplies.
-
Clothing and footwear appropriate for Alaska
weather.
- Able
to pass required background and driving-record check.

Has General Laborer experience
(i.e. Landscaping, construction, general outside hard labor work, etc.)
Compensation:
Probationary
period is approximately 60 days. During the probationary period compensation
is $25 per hour.
After the
probationary period, compensation is paid by the job and our drivers average between
$25-$33/hr!
Our
compensation package is structured around employee performance, rewarding
field staff for working efficiently and effectively. An employee’s pace,
physical condition, and familiarity with their routes also influence
results.
While every
person is different,
most new field employees seem to average the following:

Month
1-2 on the job: $25/hr during the 60 day probation period.

Month
3-5 on the job: Field employees usually average $27 or more per hour.

Month
6-8 on the job: Field employees usually average $28 or more per hour.

Month
9 on the job and beyond: Top highly efficient field employees that are in
good physical condition typically average $28/hr. to $33/hr.
Important Note: Our pay structure is designed to incentivize
field employees based on the level of effort that they put into the job.
"The above are averages." Every employee is different. Employees
that are truly focused on the job all day, are organized, are in good
physical condition, and know their way around the roadways, usually meet
these averages.
In addition
to the compensation above, we pay 67 cents per mile while providing to
services to our customers. Mileage compensation usually is around
$400-$600 per month (depending on how many jobs the employee can do per
day).
All compensation is paid twice per month.
